Role Purpose

Powerhouse Operators keep the boilers, turbines and compressors at the facility operating effectively. They respond process to changes as Plant operations dictate, perform chemical analysis and make adjustments to boiler feed water chemistry, monitor process data to insure equipment is running safely and efficiently, Troubleshoot operational and mechanical issues with equipment, report mechanical and operational issues to the Area Resource, and are responsible for all Lockout Tagout for all equipment in the area.

Powerhouse Specific Skills
· Must be a licensed Ohio Class III Stationary Steam Engineer

· Must have demonstrated mechanical knowledge to analyze and solve mechanical/ operational problems such as, Boilers, blowers, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, agitators, centrifuges, and other process equipment

· Must have proficient working knowledge of boiler feed water chemistry and make necessary adjustments based on results of analytical testing.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:

· Lifting of up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.

· Use of hand tools above shoulders, under ergonomically stressful conditions, and under application of heavy force by employee.

· Work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment.

· Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)

Skills and Experience Required

· High School graduate or GED

· Ohio Class III Stationary Steam Engineers License

· Pre-employment drug screening

· Must be willing to work overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays, both scheduled and on call-in basis

· Demonstrated experience with plant equipment (pumps, piping systems, columns, tanks, compressors, centrifuges, etc) including troubleshooting
